Wednesday Afternoon

What a Wednesday-no-unit metting afternoon! Waiting for the man to come and replace the battery, googling here and there... pretending I'm having something very, very, extremely important to do in front of the PC, the truth is I just wanted to kill the time waiting for the man to come and the money to pay the man later (I have to create debt with Cozaine because of the stupid battery!).
Nazz would be very happy to see I'm updating two blogs (for the moment, perhaps more if I would have to wait for more hours), the truth is I'm feeling extremely boring, well, perhaps a little bit of guilt for not updating in the blog for quite some times for the entries that I'd promised Nazz before. Sorry, Nazz... Hee...
The scenes happened in the unit right now:
- Kak Mimi and Adli are happily discussing something in front of their laptops! They just mentioned the word '60' and '7 yeaers', which I don't have any idea what it was, of course.
- Mr. Yeo enjoying his music like always at his cozy private corner (I hope he found it cozy there:-))
- Both the mothers in the unit, Roza and Fazlin are watching some babies' clips?! Only a mom and future-to-be mom interested in such thing. Kha kha...
- Nazz and Kak Wana are talking and giggling like usual, I always miss their laughter whenever one of the them is missing in action.
- Mr. Wee, what are you doing there? Should do some other fun things instead of holding the tape in your hand!
- Kak Norridah, as serious as ever with her work at her small cute cubicle.
- While Kak Ina is busy with her phone and checking things.
- Like always, Redza with his headphone and PC, touching his chin. Hahaa...
- Kak Siti frowning at her place, reading the news of the day. I wonder, what is going on in the news that made her frowns so hard.
- Mr. Sham (the K.U, and somebody just called him 'the director') is interviewing our lovely techininan, Izah in his office. Smiling one kind! Oh no, another new thing for the lecturers to do after this?!
- Kak Umi with her stalks of papers on the table and I bet she is trying to find some of her missing papers again.
- Almost forgotten the most quiet hero in the unit, who is concentrating so hard in front of his laptop with funny expressions on his face at times.
Well, these are the scenes for Wednesday afternoon, no class, no meeting and it is going to rain soon!
And, Pahmi, she is back in action from R & D!

HELP

HELP!!! What a month!!!
Chinese called it ‘soi’ (bad luck)!
1. Fell into a big drain just before my 28th birthday and hurt my knees, walking like a one-leg-pirate for weeks and left unforgettable remark for me to remember (sigh-goodbye my shorts and mini skirts!).
2. My car windshield was broke by some culprits last weekend after picking up Kent’s uncle and aunt from the airport (who I will definitely cut their hands with the chainsaw if I ever found out who they were) and things were stolen.
3. Thought that is going to be the end of all the bad things that happened to me, TODAY my cool sexy black car broke down! After going here and there, bought the battery water (with full of hope that’s the minor problem, confidently told the whole world it was like what had happened to Cozaine’s car the other day, and with full of rage telling the rest it was the shop owner’s fault, who serviced my car but never check my battery!) Bla… bla… bla… blaaaa… Finally, after checking, Mr. Yeo said it was the problem with the battery and I have to change it! It was like packs of ice showered from head-to-toe kind of feeling! So ‘soi’! With no money in the wallet, no way to withdraw and still I called someone to come over and repair!
What a ‘soi’ month! However, still telling Mr. Wee, everything happened with reasons and like Chinese always said ‘po cai xiao zai’ (lost some money to chase away all the bad things that might happened to us). Hahaa… Sometimes I just couldn’t stand with the positive attitude in me, as if it is naturally born to be in me:-D
Well, thanks to Pahmi, who sent me to get the battery water in town; Mr. Yeo who helped to check and advised me on the reasonable price to get for the battery; Redza who offered his help if I have a jumper to start my car (which none of us have it, anyway) and thanks to those who share the ‘soi’ news with me in the unit.
Like Cozaine and Sen Boon said I need to do more good deeds to gain something good in return!
By the way, what to do and who to help? HELP!!!

Menace of the Young

Revving sounds of the motor exhausts
Deafening and irritating
Driving peace-lovers up the wall
Angry at how inconsiderate the young can be

Stop the noise and apathy
Don't mind if it's music
Unfortunately, nothing much can be done
It has become part of the daytime routines

Indifference rules the young blood
Moving in groups and hogging the streets
Unbearable menace of the lost and stubborn
Declaring absence of life and direction

Let me rest
Let me have my peace
Before the last tick of the clock declares
The end has come

Good Luck Everyone!

Good Luck to all, both the students who sit for the UPS 1 and as well as the lecturers who mark the papers (you have one here, who just put down her red pen for a while)! Hee...
I believe, no one enjoy the stress and pressure of both, either the examination or the marking, but there is a saying sounded this way, if you can't chance the thing, then chance the way you take it:-) I hope I got the right thing to share at this stressful peak season;p

Yeah! We are having a blogging class!

We are learning on how to do blogging at this very moment, all the lecturers from English Unit.

What a view to see everyone working hard with their keyboards and squeezing their brain out for ideas! And, Mr. Redza just said, "Wow! Everyone is blogging now!" Of course in a very sacrastic way! Hehee...

This is like bringing everybody back to our old school days again, concentrating in learning something with our heart and soul once again. Though we are lecturers, yet if you all were here, you will get to see the childishness in us, that we are teasing one and another, pulling and pushing the chairs of those who sit next to us, laughing at those who are a little bit slow in following the process (Wahahaaa... I hate to do this, but please forgive me for the laugh :-) ) and making noise like our students, of course.

We are just normal human beings who enjoy good times, after all!

We are happy this evening:-)

Have to go and continue pushing the chair next to me (Miss Pahmi). Hee...

Well Wishes to All

Hi Everyone!
I would like to welcome all new students to KMM and to the ex-PDT students, welcome back. And not to forget, my dearest colleagues at the English Unit--wishing you another great year of teaching and hopefully we are able to face the linguistic, pedagogical & managerial challenges ahead together. This is my first attempt at blogging, so please excuse my 'messes' and congratulate me on my successes today.

A Motivational Flim

The title of this film is called 'One Litre Tears'. It is a Japanese short series based on a true story. It was a few years back when I watched this. I would like to share this here because it is a very motivating movie. For those that have not seen it i would highly recommend it to you. But before you start watching, please prepare a box of tissue or a pail next to you as it is just as the title suggest, you'll end up crying a litre of tears ...... or maybe even more.

Well the story is about how a girl, Kitou Aya, faces the challenges in her life after she was diagnosed with a very rare disease called spinocerebellar degeneration - which is incurable and will eventually lead to death. As for the rest, please watch the movie.

After watching this movie i feel thankful for having such a healthy body to acheive my dreams. Eventhough occasionally there are some incidents that puts us down but no matter what they are, it is of no comparison to what Kitou Aya has to face.

Below is the English translated lyrics of the theme song for this movie.

Only Human - K

On the opposite coast of sadness
is something called a smile

On the opposite coast of sadness
is something called a smile
But before we can go there,
is there something we’re waiting for?

In order to chase our dreams,
we can’t have a reason to run away
We’ve got to go, to that far away summer’s day

If we find it tomorrow, we can’t sigh
Because like a boat that opposes the stream
we have to walk straight on

In a place worn down by sadness
something called a miracle, is waiting
Yet we are still searching for the sunflower
that grows at the end of spring
The warrior who awaits the morning light
before he can clasp it with red nails,
his tears glitter and fall

Even if we’ve grown used to loneliness
only relying on the light of the moon
We have to fly away with featherless wing
just go foward, just a little further

As the rainclouds break
the wet streets sparkling
Although it brings only darkness
A powerful, powerful light
helps push us to walk on

it's all coming back to me now...

'Hari rombongan cikgu ke cybernet'.... today for the first time offically me and the rest of my collegues walked down to the cybernet. To learn blogging which is just a click away...
well actually back in UPM i already put myself in this 'mess'.why i called it mess because during that time, our blog means marks.one post a day one carry marks. so i don't really enjoyed it (knowing your lecturer going to comment on it).
But toward the end, somehow i did fell in love wit 'it'. used to have it now it come back to me... hoping it will grow stronger as writing is a like a word to sing...
Muah!!!

A rainy day...

It's raining heavily today...Had lunch with Lat at Balqis and trapped there. Came back all wet. Miss those all times whereby we ran and sang in the rain and eating ice-cream. Things no longer the same and the courage to do the stupidity matters is no longer that strong... yet, there is a part of me hunger for all the craziness and i know that some of the things have etched forever in my heart, nothing can replace and nothing will ever change that. Raining day is a sad and sorrow day, as if the Almighty is playing His sad tune for those who are sad and despair... I'm always one of them...

i can't think of any suitable topic for this post!..

its kinda difficult to start anything..so does this blog..thinking of what would be the best thing to share here..make me wander around several times in this unit figure out what to type, what to share..because for me..i'll always keep things inside.

i believe by keeping inside we wont feel it (of coz i'm referring to a negetive stuffs here!). just imagine, let say you're just been betrayed by your good buddy.. then you take it..keep it..and forget it..and trust me it wont bother you so much. Full stop there.

but if you share it with someone, the very moment your first negetive word uttered to explain the situation, you will start to feel the pain.. then you talk..and talk..and talk..using very creative adjectives and phrases like 'she purposely hurts me' 'she is my bestest friend and i trust her with all my heart!' 'she should'nt do this!' 'she shouldn't do that to me!' 'it's unbelieveable!' ' i feel so sad' i feel so mad' 'i hate her' bla..blaa..blaa...
when you do this, actually you are experience it for a second time now..but worst, this time you feel it for real. hence, you will feel deeply cuts there and then. and it does not stop there, your friend (the one whom you share your feeling) will add salt, pepper and msg! now things get really serious and you really, truly hurt now.

therefore, by having that belief in my mind, i always keep complaint to myself and very rare occasion i share my problems with my friends. all i do is think positive and stay positive.

life is short to submerge my petite figure under a duvet of negative stuffs like this..am i not right??

learn to forgive and forget..life's beautiful babes!!

The famous Nonsense English Poem - Enjoy!~~

Jabberwocky

by Lewis Carroll

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

First timer...

Hiii!

For those who have seen me around but have no clue who I am, I am one of the lovely(pun intended) Program Dua Tahun English lecturers. Why the weird introduction, you may say? First of all, those who called me "kakak" during registration day need to take note that although I look young :), but unfortunately I am one of the educators here and hey who knows, we might bump with each other and this "kakak" might be your worst nightmare! Just kidding!
Anyway, a word of wisdom: do not judge someone by their appearance. Just to be safe, use the formal address (Ms, Mr) whenever you are dealing with a stranger. It sounds more polite and the most important thing is, it saves you from embarrassing situations! Believe me, I've been there and done that!

Along it comes with the loneliness…

When I was a kid, grown up alone, I often get to look out from the corridor and just to find another lonely soul out there, like me, crying to escape from one side to another…

~Brenda~

Last day at KMM 22 May 2009 (Friday)

11 May 2009 -15 May 2009 was a week filled with a high level of adrenaline. If anyone asked, I simply would not be able to explain the reserved energy that I had to depend on working from early morning till late at night with the committee members - JK Dokumentasi dan Lapran MPPB 2009/2010 - I head. The volunteers were amazing. They worked hard. They slept little. Their energy level endless. They were everywhere!!! Tons of thanks to Zul, Sufi, Hidayat, Amirul, Safwan, Shafiq, Haziq. And of course the lovely Amira.
I love working among the lecturers too. Zillions of thanks to En. Sukor, Pn Hazmira, En Rahim, Ms Shaikah, En Fuad, En Yunos. And my best right-hand co-worker, Pn Norzalina!!

Today is my last day as a lecturer at KMM - sad. I have given 10 years of my life for this first- founded matriculation college of the Ministry of Education. In fact, being one of the pioneers, I am proud to serve at such a prestigious college. We were known as forward thinkers, daring to keep on challenging ourselves to excel at all times. We create the logo, and we create the flag. We stand tall because we were always the first!!!

To all the UBI KMM lecturers,
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so very much. It was a pleasure working among such dedicated and commited subordinates.

To all my other colleagues,
I will always remember your support and help. Do not be tired educating the young minds. After all, they will shape our future too.

To all the non-academic staff,
Jutaan terima kasih atas segala sokongan.

To all KMM students,
Always give your very best because only when you do your best will you learn that learning a.k.a studying is most satisfying and fun. Satisfaction guarantteed!!! Challenge yourselves to think out of the box. Remember the power of the right attitude because it is the key that will lead to the willingness to accomplish the higest achievable CGPA of 4.0. Best of luck.

God bless KMM
