Ingredients
- 7 tart apples (royal gala is nice), peeled (x peel pun xpe, wash with salt water, skin is rich in fiber!), cored and sliced
- 4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (/Organic Vinegar e.g. Elken Vinergy series)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (/rose water/ roselle essence)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup rolled oats (instant oatmeal is ok)
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature (/margerine)
- sunflower seeds & raisins / chopped strawberries (optional)
Method
2 Layer sliced apples in a 9 x 12-inch (or approximately the same size) baking pan.(Then sprinkle over them some raisins & chopped strawberries - optional)
3 Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and oatmeal in a bowl (& sunflower seeds). Cut in the butter (tekan2/pecah2kan sambil gaul tu till they become like crumbles). Sprinkle sugar mixture over apples.
4 Bake for 45 minutes or until topping looks crunchy and apples are tender.
Serves 8. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (/cold milk/yogurt)
p/s: You can substitute the apples with banana, just remember to reduce the brown sugar as banana has more sugar content
